Nestled in the shadow of the mesa, we push the boundaries of what craft beer can be. Our focus is singular — high-gravity, high-complexity beers that reward patience and provoke conversation.
From rich Imperial Stouts aged in bourbon barrels to Belgian-inspired Quadrupels with deep, dark fruit character, every batch is an exercise in intensity and craft. We don't brew session beers. We brew beers that demand your attention.

Our flagship RIS. Brewed with tonka beans for a subtle marzipan and anise character. Dark, complex, and unapologetically bold. The beer that started it all.
The Satchel packs quite the punch. This Quadrupel is oaked with wood chips soaked in whiskey, giving it an unmistakable whiskey character. Also available in a Cognac-infused variant.
A dark, spiced Scottish Ale brewed with anise, blood orange, and liquorice. Complex, warming, and full of character. Our silent protagonist in a glass.
A bright, clear blonde with vanilla and pepper additions. Fresh and crisp, perfect alongside a good meal. Looks friendly, hits harder than you'd expect.
Our Baltic Porter, oaked during fermentation with oak barrel chips. Rich, smooth, and layered with dark malt character. Handle with care.
A clear, refreshing blonde with subtle vanilla and pepper. At 6%, it's our most approachable beer — but still unmistakably Black Mesa.
Lightly sweet with a light body and a mild finish. Our friendly neighbourhood Dubbel. Reliable, approachable, always there when you need him.
Our summery coconut and lime IPA. Deceptively drinkable, perfect for warm days, barbecues, or a relaxed evening with friends. You won't see it coming.
A richly spiced Scottish Ale, perfect for cold winter evenings or as a nightcap after a long day. Warming and full of depth.
The favourite beer of our brewer Paulus — his signature brew. A Barley Wine aged for two years to reach its full potential. Rich, complex, and worth the wait.
Our Tripel, now in its fifth version. Brewed in part with hops homegrown by our own supplier Thijs. A true collaboration from field to glass.
A rich, dark porter with a beautiful interplay of chocolate, caramel, and roasted malt, enriched with the complexity of port‑ and whisky‑wood. Deep dark brown to near‑black with a ruby shimmer against the light. Warm, full, layered — and perfect for the dark evenings. We don't go to Ravenholm... but we brew there.
We build complex grain bills with specialty malts — think Munich, chocolate, Special B, and smoked malts. High gravity starts with serious malt backbone.
Long, multi-step mashes extract maximum fermentable sugars. For our biggest beers, we use parti-gyle or double-mash techniques to hit target gravity.
High-gravity fermentation is a slow art. We use carefully selected yeast strains with high alcohol tolerance and manage temperatures across weeks, not days.
Select beers are aged in bourbon, rum, or wine barrels. Time and wood transform the beer, adding depth and complexity no shortcut can replicate.
We bring Black Mesa to you. Our tasting events are available on request and on location — private gatherings, corporate events, or celebrations. Each session is guided by our brewers and paired with carefully selected bites.
